Photographer Comment: To stop the action when "sparks fly" I set the camera on shutter priority 1/100 f2.8 7.8mm and ISO 100. I wanted the scene dark with the sparks bright so: 1)I copied the layer and brought the opacity down to darken the image 2) Then to get the sparks to show up brighter I erased the area on the copied top layer over the sparks and cloned the individual sparks until I had them bright.
