Photographer Comment: I'm only posting one picture this week - haven't been able to get away from the house but I was lucky enough to catch my neighbor's grandson, Alex, playing with the water hose when it caught him by surprise and hit him in the face. I love taking pictures of children, they are so very spontaneous and you can truly get some great "candids" from them. This photo I took with my Canon 20D set at 1/180 sec @ f/8 to catch the look on his face while being able to get a slight bit of water movement and used f/8 to blur the background. I then created two versions, a color and a black/white, imported them into Photoshop and "erased" Alex from the BW. I then blurred the background black and white foreground some more, boosted the contrast and subtracted some of the brightness to give Alex more "POP" out of the picture. I didn't want anything else to distract from this wonderful candid. .
