I am always fascinated by patterns in nature, so tend to take a lot of closeups.  In my part of the USA (New England), much of nature has "gone to bed" for the winter, but there are still opportunities.  I welcome any helpful advice and thanks in advance.

Hi Jim,

Looks like some interesting opportunities for you to take close up photos.  With the one you've posted, it's probably just a bit busy from my perspective - I'm not quite sure what the focus of your shot is.  Simplifying your photo can help deliver the message your trying to get across to the viewer.

Thanks so much for your review.  I agree...the shot doesn't really have a focus, so I'll remember your advice.  That's one of the guidelines I remember reading somewhere, simplify!
