Chapter 2 Assignment - Depth of Field

This is my attempt over the weekend for Depth of Field.  I tend to try and take several shots with small depth of field, but I wanted to do one specifically for this assignment rather than use an old photo.  This was a pic taken of my little one year old helping put up the christmas tree.  She was relatively close to the tree so the blur isn't as heavy but is still there.  Anyway, feedback greatly appreciated as always.

Shallow enough to keep the focus on the subject but deep enough for the viewer to appreciate the connect  the only thing I'd suggest is shifting your position when taking the photo so the window isn't in the shot. It's a bit bright behind your subject which can under expose them a little. If you could have positioned yourself around a bit more so only the tree was in the background I think your subject would had a bit better light and stood out a bit more.

Completely agree with the window comment, the little rug rat moves like lightening so that is something else I'll have to practice - working quickly with kids!!   Thanks for your feedback!

A pleasure.  I forgot to ask - what camera and lens settings did you use at the time.  It helps to know how you've taken the photo sometimes

I shoot with a K200D Pentax Camera. I was using a 24-70mm lens, with settings of f3.5, 1/45 sec and ISO 400.

You did well to capture her at such a slow shutter speed.
