Chapter 6 Assignment - Playing With Scene Modes: Macro Mode

My eldest informed me that he had found a baby praying mantis to take photos of. While i captured a shot of the little fella, who really liked to move around, I found two other creatures that paused long enough for me to a few close ups of. They didn't like it though!
I'm amazed at how sharply the camera and lens have worked to take these shots. I've cropped in the better ones to show the detail that was captured.
Here's the first bug which is probably the least impressive of the series:
Taken handheld with a Nikon D7000 and a Sigma 17-70mm lens:
Focal Length: 70mm (105mm in 35mm)
Exposure Time: 1/125
F Number: f/8
White Balance: Auto
ISO: 180
Exposure Bias: 0

And finally the third subject. In the first shot I actually thought the hopper was too dark until I zoomed in and saw the detail captured. I've done an extra two crops again to highlight the detail.
Love this camera! And I'm pretty happy with the performance of the lens too... from a beginner's perspective.
