Out of the two pictures you posted for assignment 3, I like photo 2. I like the way the wall sort of frames the picture and the background is out of focus. Very nice shot.

I agree - I prefer this shot and I think the wall really frames the people very well, as well as contrasting your niece's blonde hair better in this shot.  As my eye moves across the image though, I think my preference would have been to see their legs in a bit more focus - just a personal thing.
