"Capturing the beauty of nature in a photography"

I got the 1st edition of Photographing Children workshop book sometime last year. I bought the book to learn more about how to take better pictures of children. Since my children are older now, I had to go through old pictures that I took when my child were younger for this assignment. Looking through the old picture to current pictures of my children, my style is taking the "candid" photos over the "sit down portrait studio" photos. Since these picture were taken prior to digital technology, I don't remember the exact camera accept it was film in a cartridge (i.e. 126 or 110) and a Kodak camera. I like the candid moments as I feel they are more natural moods being capture compare to a sit down portrait.

I'm with you on enjoying the more candid shots - I think tell more of a story than set up portraits

Yes, the set up portraits are nice, but as you said they don't really tell a story about the person or subject. In candid shots, you can see the person's personality as they are playing on the playground or doing something that interest them.
