Nice Job!  I really like the framing.  You're positioning in the room is great and the book in front breaks this out of just an assignment and something thats really cool.  It can be extremly hard to shoot in low light and you managed to catch detail even in the darker areas.

What lens did you use?

You can see that it picked up some noise in the background, but I am guessing this photo is lighter than it looked in person?

Thank you very much! I enjoyed thinking of this shot and taking it.  However, as you noticed, my intended image was not what the final outcome was - and I intend to retake this picture (someday).  The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 is one of the older "superzooms" which I fell in love with about 4 years ago and still use often.  For this picture, I took it at (almost) the widest angle of the lens.

Best wishes.

Do you shoot in raw?  Did you try any post processing image adjustments?

This is as it came out of the camera (but reduced in size using MS Paint - by selecting the whole image and resizing it).  There was no after-processing.

The Exif info on the original has the following information in it:
Width 3648
Height: 2735
Manual Exposure
ISO 800
Shutter speed: 1/80
Aperture Val.: f3.2
Focal Length: 5.90mm
Focal Length in 35MM: 33mm

Thanks!

Unfortuantly, I can't post full sized images from my camera.  In raw format they are 18.1 meg.  Sad

If you have a raw file of this image, and wouldn't mind sending it to me, I could try a post processing pass on it.  I think it's a great photo and would be a fun one to test my skills.

Here is one of the other images I took for chapter 2.  This one I post processed to adjust the lights, transitions of shadows, trim, sharpness, color temp., color saturation and contrast.

Thanks.
