Chapter 4 Halo or rim backlighting

Does this count for rim or backlighting? I know our workbook is for photographing children, but my mom wanted me to take some pictures of her and I thought I would practice some of the skills I've been reading about. What do you think?

This is a wonderful example of backlighting! It catches the tendrils of hair just right and there's enough light in front that you can see her face perfectly without it making her squint or wrinkle up. I have to note the composition though; I know this chapter isn't about composition, but I would have moved her further into the frame so as not to cut off part of her beautiful face. (how lucky you are to have such a beautiful model for your assignments)
