To Ziggy and anyone else who couldn't view my pictures...I'm trying a different way of posting them. If that doesn't work follow the link on my first picture and go to my Flickr stream. They are all there.

Hi again Ziggy,
Thanks for your kind comments. For what it's worth I agree with you on the pictures of the shoreline. But after all art is fairly subjective. The texture picture was a "cheap shot" because there wasn't much artistry going on there. But as I said I couldn't resist. Texture is a hard concept to put in a visual medium and when it looked so much like an owl I just snapped a few shots and took the best one. It had probably been that way for years on the tree and I didn't notice it until I went in search of texture for the assignment. So you could say I'm learning to "see".
I still am not sure why some peoples posts show here and mine don't. Hopefully we can get some assistance with that as the sight grows. There is one person who has been posting for every book and I can't see any of their pictures. Frustrating.

Hi Ziggy!
Love the first s-curve photo with the placement of the water, the DOF is fantastic, you've got foreground, midground and distance in focus.  The colors are beautiful.

You've certainly caught the texture in the tree.  It's certainly unique, too.  Did some attempt to carve owls at one time?
