I love this picture, though. :) Title: Re: Ch4 Assignment (Manipulating Light) Post by: NewMemories on January 15, 2011, 11:36:03 AM They're there, but they're small. I looked at the original and I can see them.

I can see a little 'sparkle' in her eyes, but maybe you might be able to get an even better one by using a reflector? It is already very nice though, as a parent, I would love it :).
Title: Re: Ch4 Assignment (Manipulating Light) Post by: NewMemories on January 24, 2011, 02:48:44 PM I've never used a reflector before, I'm not sure how that would work or not...any suggestions? Tips?

lightsource subject / (reflector) Title: Re: Ch4 Assignment (Manipulating Light) Post by: NewMemories on January 24, 2011, 02:54:27 PM I see...but since she was in the shade I'm not sure how that would work. I was standing in the shade with her under a huge tree. And would the reflector affect her skin tone or create shadows?
Title: Re: Ch4 Assignment (Manipulating Light) Post by: ejb on January 24, 2011, 03:00:24 PM It is not likely to create shadows, since it only reflects light (it doesn't bounce shadows http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280521545073&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT) . If you can not 'catch' any light whatsoever, it's no use bringing a reflector though.
Title: Re: Ch4 Assignment (Manipulating Light) Post by: jworkman on February 05, 2011, 11:34:09 PM Nice composition and colour. The reflector would just brighten her face a bit, but if you don't have someone there working the reflector or a stand it can be a bit tricky. As far as the catch lights go...you can always emphasize them later in post processing?
