Title: Chapter 1 assignment: architecture

I am a dedicated hobby photographer, based in Florida and Jamaica. In 2011 I won the annual Las Olas Photo Contest in Fort Lauderdale (open to amateurs and professionals) which earned me a 4-weeks solo exhibition in a Fort Lauderdale gallery. The experience encouraged me to upgrade my old hybrid Fuji camera to a Sony Alpha a33 dSLR and to take a more formal approach to photography - in the past most of my pics were lucky "out of the belly" shots.
The 2 photos show my favorite beach bar in Jamaica, both shot in automatic mode (F13 - 1/160sec - ISO100) with a 18-55mm lens; the 1st one at 28mm, the 2nd at 24mm. As the photos were taken in bright early afternoon light I added some saturation via photoshop.
What do you think?
