Title: Inspired Plants and Botanicals Post by: InspiringFotos on October 26, 2011, 10:50:32 AM This flower inspired me because of the colors and shape of the flower. When I first saw this flower in bloom at the store it reminded me of a satellite dish. I just had to buy the plant. This is a Blue Passion flower that grows on a vine and produces passion fruit. This picture was taken with my Kodak Z712 IS Zoom Digital, f/3.2, 1/160 sec., ISO-64, 13 mm. I would like some feedback on my lighting and composition.
Title: Re: Inspired Plants and Botanicals Post by: goldcoastgolfer on October 31, 2011, 01:13:16 PM There is just one leaf that folds over the flower that keeps distracting me. I think if that leaf weren't there I'd be a lot more focussed on the flower itself. Took me a while to think about what it was and I initially thought it was the leaves dominating the flower but I think it's just that one leaf in the foreground that just protrudes over the flower a bit.
My only other thought was I wonder what the photo would have been like with a bit more light on the flower itself. I think if I took this photo a little more to the left that would of prevented the top leaf from blocking some of the flower. As far as the lighting, I will try again from a different angle that the sun is shine on the front of the flower instead of behind the flower.
