1850 The idea of using several exposures to fix a too-extreme range of luminance was pioneered as early as the 1850s by Gustave Le Gray to render seascapes showing both the sky and the sea. Such rendering was impossible at the time using standard techniques, the luminosity range being too extreme. Some of the sites get pretty into the technical but understanding the techniques is the name of the game for making HDR images. I also see lots of HDR images that does not look like a true HDR. Some people and I'll say over process. Processing an image for different moods, emotional appeal, and creative, etc. If you master the HDR concept you can do all kinds of nice thing. - Jim- |
