Title: Weekly Assignment: Turn High Contrast into a Colorful Silhouette Post by: PWS-Staff on June 15, 2011, 09:50:45 AM Creating colorful silhouettes is a lot of fun because you can reveal common subjects in a graphic and dramatic way. And making silhouettes with a camera is almost as much fun as the ones that you cut out of construction paper in grammar school. For this assignment, find an interesting shape and photograph it against a bright background. You can choose a sunset sky, a white wall, or any bright background -- just use your imagination.

Here is a photo taken when I was at Pacific Beach in CA. I was trying to capture a sunset beach moment when 2 seagulls were flying in the sky. I feel that I capture the silhouette of the gulls as they were flying in the sky, but I like my saguaro catus silhouette better when I capture a AZ sunset like in the Lighting: Capter 7 assignment "Best Light for Your Landscape". This one was taken with my Canon.
