Photographer's Comment: Late evening light appx 1 hr before sunset. PS consists of sharpening layer, softening layer, soft layer mask, noise, matting. Mostly just playing with some noise effects, wondering what you think. Thanks Carl

By Jim915 (2007-09-23 16:27:54 ): Well Carl, I think this is a great take on a very common subject. Your photo and combined PS work attracts me to the image. I think it is the combination of a well done image and the color and noise. I like this very much.

By smokeydawg (2007-09-23 13:36:47 ): Thanks for taking the time and the suggestions Jill. It's much appreciated. I havn't tried patterrn overelays, well not on flowers anyway, I have been trying different blending modes on other stuff lateley, but not this one. I'll do some more playing, always like playing anyway. On the imate, don't really have the room to move it, the name escapes me right now, but there is another comp rule called "something" saddle, and that's what I used composing this one.
By vdtconsult (2007-09-23 00:51:23 ): Carl, the rose has a kind of antiqued effect, which I like. I think that I would like to see a bit less noise or maybe the imate needs a bit of lightening and maybe move it just a smidgeon more to the left if that is possible. (Have you tried applying a pattern overlay through the layer effects that you find at the bottom of the layers palette? - make sure you scale the pattern and adjust the opacity and try different blending modes for some fascinating effects)
