Doggie at the Window

Photographer's Comment: © C.J. Groth -- I loved the shop window with the nude figures and "sale" signs, and the picture was complete when the puppy peed.

By clwhitney (2007-09-07 19:30:41 ): As with many of your other images, you are able to find interesting images that would stand alone, but you are able to add the extra element of interest to make it more unique.

By CJGroth (2007-09-02 01:10:45 ): Thanks, everyone, for your great critiques. Several of you have mentioned possibly cropping the hand and red lead on the right. I must tell you I love that hand, and the red forms a triangle of red from the far left sign to the mannequin's seat to the red lead, to the puppy and back again. I think it is an integral part of the picture, and just wanted to explain why. Plus, it is incongruous, as are so many things in the image, that I just find it delightful. CJ

By steadyonabix (2007-09-01 23:23:09 ): I would just crop the hand out, adds nothing as the lead suggests the leaders presence. Great capture!

By BeatriceFriedli (2007-09-01 21:08:43 ): nice capture ! great story

By photomato (2007-09-01 18:39:55 ): If only he were taller....Wacky and hilarious in such an absurd way. I salute your timing and the ability to capture this near surreal convergence of circumstances with such tongue in cheek aplomb! This is one that will last. Composition is outstandingly balanced in 'an assymetrical way'. The weight of the large expanse of window coming in from the left, blessedly without a multitude of distracting reflections, is not allowed to swallow the viewer's attention by the call of nature from a very small charming visitor, (even if he is a bit soft in the focus) and the oh so subtle hint of his master/mistress as they just begin to enter the scene. Brilliantly executed with giggle-producing results.

By smokeydawg (2007-09-01 18:32:38 ): LoL, love it! Really fun capture, good job catching this! I think I would crop out the hand at the very right, but this is great! Thanks for sharing! Still LoL! You're right, the puppy just completes this!
