By greg-y (2007-09-02 01:33:52 ): Whoops click the send by mistake on previous Reply. Thanks John, your question has got me thinking a bit more about the structure its self, rather than the photo. I would say the subject matter as a whole,(the church)was architecturially very plain, but the steeple was not. It served three architecturial purposes, one a religious symbol or sculpture. The second, at the base of the steeple is a 360 deg skylight which brings light into the centre of the church. The thrid is the light that shines onto the people within the church is also symbolic and has meaning to meany religious groups.
