Take My Hand

Photographer's Comment: Composite I've played with a bit, just looking for feedback on anything I may have missed or any improvments you may have. In particular I'm struggling with how to crop this, the area on the left is the building itself, and not sure if that works or if I should just crop the window or crop the window and put the whole thing on a bg. So I'm definately ope to ideas also. Thanks Carl

By smokeydawg (2007-09-01 15:08:59 ): Thanks Scott. I tried a crop of just the window, but thought it made everything a bit to tight and needed breathing room, didn't think of darkening the building though, will try that. Thanks

By smokeydawg (2007-09-01 15:05:51 ): Thanks Warren, and welcome to pws! I was trying to counter the window some, though the crop of just the window was just to tight and needed breating room so went with this one, and not sure if that worked either. I'll try the round elements, hadn't thought of that.

By KF4sign (2007-08-31 22:47:56 ): Carl, I like the building element on the left...I see the off-balance of the wall creating a nice counterpoint to the balance of the window frame. If that was your intent, I wonder if it would help to empphasize the round elements of the window frame. -Warren

By clwhitney (2007-08-29 19:42:54 ): Carl-I think cropping the building would help. The broken window, spider, and face all work well together and it is a nice take on your cemetary theme.

By smokeydawg (2007-08-29 16:41:37 ): The spider was a bonus, I couldn't decide on which way was best to shoot the window by itself so I did about 10 or 12 shots of just the window, the last several shots of the window had the spider in his travels across the window.

The only thing thats bothering me is the large brownish area to the left. Maybe croping it out or darkening it bit. Other than that. Great photo. Like the spider above the head. Was that there or did you put it in.
