By Photolas (2008-03-05 22:16:01 ): I like the blur of the background and how her face is framed. Well done.

By clwhitney (2007-08-22 15:50:08 ): Carl-I have enjoyed this series. Each image has contributed in a different way. It is nice to see you explore the possibilities.

By DougWilkening (2007-08-21 20:19:14 ): Very effective. The OOF tombstones (both the white one and the darker one below it) may be a bit of a distraction, drawing the eye away from the model. Perhaps they could be cloned out.

By BKMorrow (2007-08-21 15:42:19 ): Ah so true. Just think how boring the world would be if we all liked the same thing? Carl - as always I value your creativity and talant.

By maureenyoung52 (2007-08-21 14:37:24 ): In a traditional "portrait" I think the focus should be this sharp. In this setting her face looks a little too sharp to me. I think to harsh lighting adds to this effect. This is probably what the client wants. If this were my picture I would create a new adjustment layer, add a gausian blur between 15 and 20 and then play with the opasity, probably around 20% just to soften it a little bit. Just my opinion, I like everything soft and pretty, Like I said probably not what the client wants.

By Isachsen (2007-08-21 14:29:19 ): Great with that hint of green. You got it Carl, I just love this one!

By vdtconsult (2007-08-21 00:30:06 ): Carl, I think those weddings are getting to you. A photo doesn't always have to be technically good if it has impact. So, I would say that this has impact.

By dianasanzone (2007-08-20 23:59:32 ): Gee Carl, this strange young woman has been quite the muse for you lately! This is a stimulating series.

By BeatriceFriedli (2007-08-20 23:58:29 ): way cool !!!!! emotive !

By BKMorrow (2007-08-20 21:08:29 ): While I understand the concept and rated per my opition, I think the composition hurts the image more then it helps. Did you perhaps take on showing the person taken further away while still using a shallow DOF to blur the grave stones? To me that would have told a better story. All in all the image quality is good, with the exception of the green hue. Perhaps try it again at night using IR for an amazing capture. Just my humble two cents.

By Jim915 (2007-08-20 19:47:11 ): Carl, I like the way you've framed her face with the stones. Having her look around the wall is also a nice compositional element to grab the viewer's interest. I would burn down the two very bright area at the right of the BG.

By cbro (2007-08-20 19:19:50 ): Jeez Carl, this would scare me silly if I saw it in reall life. It all fits, the face, the frame, and just enough background. Great.
