By johnwillems (2007-08-07 00:46:07 ): Dear Atle, I follow your work with great interest. The last photograph (self-portrait) with the large finger, is a very powerful photograph. You have a special look on the things in Your live and that is important: a combination of to enjoy and seriousness.I like that. Have a nice day in Norway.

By Atle (2007-08-06 23:46:52 ): Very nice John! I like the blend of sepia and colors in this photo. Fun with your shadow as well, good work! Look like you have used a strobe, and yet your shadow is there. Very clever! ☺

By johnwillems (2007-08-06 21:26:48 ): Dear Diana, your description of these positive critique is completely correct. The "ellipses", here in these photograph have an more graphical intention. It makes the photograph more dynamic also the dancin girl "more happy". With a title alone, one cannot tell everything. The photograph was incorporated in a poorer district, where children must play, with very ordinary things. The rainbow colours are rather "grafitti-colours", compatibel with these district. So, the rainbow-colours are not "the" beatifull "United colours" of Benneton for ex. For these reason, the rainbow also the background is fairly dark. It does me think on the Years 1907. Thus, the title "2007 NO 1907" lay a link to less good times of in former days, which are for some people today also still reality. Thanks for posted Your critique.

By dianasanzone (2007-08-06 18:49:20 ): In this case, I think the dotted circles work very well. They increase the sense of movement and the flinging rope loops. I often have difficulty figuring out your titles (I think titles can add to an image), so I have to go by the image itself. Most of your images I find very well done, although I have to admit your symbolism usually escapes me.

By Isachsen (2007-08-06 14:46:15 ): This version is as cool as the earlier. John, I hope that you have saved the image extra good - in a very safe place - so nobody can go in and clone away that shadow of yours. I know there are people here who are desperate to do that (he,he!)
