Photographer's Comment: I've been wanting to try high key for a while & never got around to it. So here we are with an assignment and I have to spend a few days in the city. The wooden swan was the best model I could think of......

By whitewavesPTP (2008-09-24 12:12:10 ): Thank you Carlos, I have always liked looking at high key, this is the first time I have tried it.

By whitewavesPTP (2008-09-24 12:10:41 ): Thank you very much Carl. Your comment as always is much appreciated.

By karmal (2008-09-24 09:23:49 ): A very nice and effective high key. The merging of the swan with the background resulting from the blown out parts (absence of borders) works well for me. Carlos

By smokeydawg (2008-09-23 02:39:45 ): Nice job on the high key Dorothy! Nice lines, comp and light.

By whitewavesPTP (2008-09-23 01:01:15 ): Thank you Ivo.

By whitewavesPTP (2008-09-22 16:40:37 ): ok, the thing I like about high key with the edges blown is that your mind fills in the blanks so to speak.

By whitewavesPTP (2008-09-22 16:39:01 ): Thanks Linda, he's an old swan that has followed me around for years :-)

By LindaJames (2008-09-22 16:33:28 ): A very pretty and graceful shot. I think it works really well for the assignment.

By somagni (2008-09-22 16:29:07 ): You aren't wrong but it can also have a little definition. I usually like a little subtle definition instead of no information. Personal preference.

By whitewavesPTP (2008-09-22 16:18:56 ): It was done indoors using 6.0s @ f/16. I took it in RAW and had to play with the WB as it was too yellow.

By nezel (2008-09-22 15:52:18 ): i didnt have any idea what high key was and then this! thank you! a quick question though. was this done indoors or out?

By whitewavesPTP (2008-09-22 11:22:52 ): I thought that when doing high key some of the edges were blown out - am I wrong?

By somagni (2008-09-22 10:22:01 ): This is beautiful. I think I'd like to see a little detail along the top edge.
