Ornate Desolation II

Photographer's Comment: In this photo the picture frame didn't stand out as much, but I do like this pose. I resisted the urge to crop this image down . I want to show the size of the room and its bleakness as a contrast to the model and the frame. Let me know what you think.

By twadams (2008-09-15 14:14:47 ): Moira, I like the crop suggestion you showed. This shoot wasn't as productive as I had wanted it to be. I had to start shooting late and the temp was in the mid 90's with 70% humidity.I couldn't get enough light comming in to use the reflector the way I wanted for as long as I needed it and I hate using the flash if I can help it. Starting this week we will have temps in the 80's so I hope to take advantage of that. Thanks as always for your invaluable insight. It is much appreciated.

By ktapio (2008-09-15 11:33:18 ): Nice pose for the model. I understand your wish of showing the room’s size. But the composition and position of the frame was more interesting to me. Still it is very nice image.. katia

By mo (2008-09-15 05:07:19 ): hi Todd, I like this one much more than the previous image. the frame is a dramatic component here- even with the loss of its detail. I wish that she were better placed within the frame, but her pose is very nice. I agree that the wider shot emphasizes the decay, but I wonder if losing some of the foreground might not make the frame an even bigger presence. personally I prefer the milder toning here- although the toning on the other image did serve to reinforce the gilding of the frame.

By djon8 (2008-09-15 00:05:41 ): Good concept. As far as the frame goes, it would look better moved to the left, not only for composition sake, but to include a portion of the window she is looking through. I say compo sake because you have her face going out instead of coming into the frame.
