Photographer's Comment: Hi every one, I was not sure I will be in time to join you. Just got back from our trip and have some pictures so I hope I get some comments letting me know if the DOF is clear. DOF is my weakness and I am trying to understand it…
The day time was noon. We were driving in the desert and the car windshield is tinted.

By ktapio (2008-08-29 04:31:22 ): I wrote down the notes you suggested next time we are on the road I am going to try it.. I take a lot of pictures from the moving car in this environment. It is not really very accepted to see a woman taking pictures in public. I am not sure if it is against the law but I am not going to find out either. I want to try using my new 70 200 lens I am still learning how too and if it would be easy to do while in a car too.. we will see. There is so much to learn and remember. Thanks again for your thoughtful suggestion. katia

By ktapio (2008-08-28 22:18:10 ): Thanks Janith for your remarks. All well taken. Would it really have made a difference the smaller aperture and higher f-stop? Even if the car was at 130km. an hour? I will try it next time. thanks again katia

As for the DoF, you've captured a nice series of layers to create depth, with the mirror/window frame in the foreground, the car in the midrange, and the refinery in the background. If you had used a smaller aperture (higher f-stop) the foreground could have been more in focus, increasing the total depth of field. Good response to the assignment.
