Photographer's Comment: I'd love any photoshop advice on how to make this image stand out more, and of course any other things I could have done better here photography-wise. This was one of those great photo ops, and I'm not sure I captured exactly what I was after. Any and all advice appreciated.

By littlepeanut (2008-07-22 12:32:58 ): thanks for the feedback. I wish I could go back and take a picture of the chair at a different time of day, but it'll have to wait until next year when we go back for vacation! I'm going to upload an edited version to my B&V. ~Paget.
By clwhitney (2008-07-22 00:10:49 ): These adirondack chairs are so colorful and I like the story of the empty chair inviting the viewer to have a seat in the tranquility of the woods. Some suggestions to make it even stronger:the lighting is at a hrash time of day creating a big lighting contrast between the shade and BG highlights-when the light is more appealing, the deep red chair color and green foliage will pop out. The red and green contrast will look better.
By littlepeanut (2008-07-21 18:35:30 ): thanks Warren. I appreciate your suggestions and agree with the sunny areas being distracting. Going to try to burn them down a bit more. ~paget.
By littlepeanut (2008-07-21 18:34:34 ): Thanks Dorothy, I like the crop. I took this picture close to noon so the sun was bright. I already burned the sunspots down considerable, if you can believe it. I'm going to crop it down and burn a little more. Thanks for the suggestions!
By whitewavesPTP (2008-07-21 15:21:53 ): OH, sorry, I really like the red chair!
By whitewavesPTP (2008-07-21 15:21:23 ): I would suggest cropping closer to the chair and just lightly burning the sun spots so there is still sun but not so bright.
By KF4sign (2008-07-21 12:26:46 ): A nice shot. Im not sure that "wanting to make it stand out more" is the best approach to get the effect you want. I wonder if less emphasis on the bright sunshine would let the wonderful chair be the thing that stands out. I feel that now the lighting contrast draws the eye away from the chair. Maybe experiment with shooting at a different time of day to look for alternative patterns of light. Overall though. very nice - Warren
