Photographer's Comment: This guy was I guess involved in some sort of territorial dispute and was hiding in this thing out behind a church while I was taking a break waiting for a wedding ceremony to start. He wasn't moving much or didn't fly away when I approached, had to get a few snaps because I liked his little "fuzzies" coming out of the head. Never really noticed these before. He did eventually fly away though before I went back in. I know it's not an exciting street image, but I don't really give a you know what. :) Im more of a nature person anyway. I thought between the green at the edges and the darker bg toward the middle it fit the assignment.

By Isachsen (2008-05-27 08:04:16 ): A lovely shot Carl. I like it very much. It also shows what often happens when we sit there doing nothing - but with camera in hand - always ready to capture many of life's sudden "live shows" (grin)!
By Atle (2008-05-26 20:24:13 ): Nice use of tones in color here! Like the close up on the bird as well, bravo Carl! ☺
By smokeydawg (2008-05-26 17:13:08 ): Thanks Katia, I always appreciate your comments. Was definately a chick, I was thinking Robin, but not real good at identifying birds. Carl

By smokeydawg (2008-05-26 17:10:54 ): Thanks Dorothy! I was thinking Robin also, but I have to confess I'm no expert with identifying birds. Being able to do nothing but nature and wildlife photography would be wonderful! Carl
By smokeydawg (2008-05-26 17:09:07 ): Thanks CJ, he's probably wondering what I was doing with that funny looking black thing. :)
By LindaJames (2008-05-25 22:38:33 ): Lovely shot, Carl. So close and a great highlight in his eye. Love the little feathers.
By ktapio (2008-05-25 21:18:18 ): From his beak you could tell that he is a new chick. And what a look of precaution of your presence a wonderful find quit colorful too. katia
By whitewavesPTP (2008-05-25 21:16:48 ): This is a really nice shot, actually I'd love to do nature shots, but I think they are very hard to do well. I wonder if this is a baby robin. We did an African Safari & that's the life I'd like to lead. Just be driven around to all the wonderful spots where great animals and birds hang out and take photos of them all day long. What a dream!
By CJGroth (2008-05-25 19:43:35 ): I love this sweet portrait and the little tufts sticking out. Great exposure and dof. His expression makes me wonder what he's thinking.
