Come Sit With Me

Photographer's Comment: Took this while out walking the dogs at a park. Just liked the way it looked. Will possibly be part of a landscape series I've been working on for a while and probably will be a while longer. Just curious on your thoughts, good or bad or in between. Thanks, Carl

By smokeydawg (2008-05-20 23:41:12 ): Thank you John, glad you noticed the contrast between the old tree and the "lonely" modern bench.

By leachy (2008-05-16 17:24:30 ): this is well spotted carl. the softness created by the absence of direct sunlight ads to the loneliness of the mood. like it!!

By HangGlider (2008-05-16 13:33:25 ): I like it. Great contrast between the lush green and the cold steel/concrete of the bench. (Did you blur the foliage in the upper RH corner?) Nice image!

By karmal (2008-05-16 02:31:38 ): Hi Carl. I like the composition, colors and mood. The bench is for me an important part in the story. If this is about solitude, it's a pleasing solitude. Not lonelyness. Carlos

By sonoranhawk (2008-05-16 01:14:04 ): I would vote for in between. Love the flowered tree and the contrast between pink and green, but there isn't much more that catches my interest. The bench is just a bench, I don't think it adds to the scene even if the intent is to invite for a chat.

By WIAUNTBEE (2008-05-16 00:29:20 ): The subject matter is very diverse. This could evoke either an invitation to sit or loneliness of the empty bench. I like the color saturation and composition. Very nice shot!

By Jim915 (2008-05-15 22:42:49 ): Carl - Your light is just magnificent. Compositionally the position of the trees and the beautiful pink/reds of the leaves or flowers is very strong and produces a compelling scene. I'm not real fond of the bench, however. I think it interfers with the appreciation of a quite moment appreciating nature's beauty.

By johnwillems (2008-05-15 21:30:22 ): Hi Carl, that's a very intresting work. On the first view it looks classic but for me it is a very modern view on the things arround us. The colours of the flowers of the tree are amazing in contrast with the flashy green grass. Very important for me in these photogaph is the contrast between the "old tree" and the "lonely" modern chair/bank in alu. Again a Top-Image on these site here. Friendly from John.
