By smyers11 (2008-05-03 04:59:17 ): yes you are correct about my comments. just thought cropping out some of the (beautiful) weathered wood on the right. off centering the interior - certainly a matter of taste! i've found myself reluctant to crop my own photos - i'm no expert. what really strikes me about this photo is the exposure, the light play - really nice!
By HangGlider (2008-05-02 16:16:28 ): Thanks CamGram! I really enjoyed shooting this - and enjoyed the results even more! :-)
By HangGlider (2008-05-02 16:15:17 ): Thanks for the feedback - I really appreciate it.
By HangGlider (2008-05-02 16:14:37 ): Thank you very much! I've shot this relic before, but never took the time to look inside. To think it's been there waiting for months!
By HangGlider (2008-05-02 16:13:19 ): Thanks for the feedback! Could you elaborate a little more on 'shifting the interior to the right'? I'm not sure I understand. Maybe I should crop it more on the right to shift the window opening that direction? Help!
By HangGlider (2008-05-02 16:11:34 ): Thank you John!
By HangGlider (2008-05-02 16:11:08 ): Thanks Katia, I appreciate your kind words.
By HangGlider (2008-05-02 16:10:15 ): Thanks to all who have taken the time to look and comment! I really appreciate the feedback - I'm pretty new to all of this - I've only had the 5D for about 6 months - but I'm learning more every day.
By smokeydawg (2008-05-02 13:43:13 ): I really like this, nice colors and light and pov. Love that tire up against the wall of the railcar.
By CamGram (2008-05-02 09:58:35 ): This is a very interesting photo. There is the immediate sense of abandonment, but then the bright sunshine prevents it from being a sad picture. I really like the slice of outdoors that you see throught the window on the right. Everything works just right on this one. Nice job.
By sonoranhawk (2008-05-02 01:08:33 ): Good colors, textures, depth. Captured at the right time of day for the good lighting accents. Good POV from the outside looking in. Makes one wonder what history there is in this scene.

By janith (2008-05-01 19:24:40 ): What a find! The weathered wood textures are so sharp, the bright colors add more punch, the geometry and the perspective really drawn one into this relic of the past. Nice photo!
By smyers11 (2008-05-01 17:08:43 ): interesting. good exposure and wb. must of shot in through a window opening. I would try to shift the interior of the boxcar to the right - let the exterior lead into the interior. the windows on the right of the interior are positioned well - leads the eye out after coming in. i really like the light play on the inside. lots of cool lines and colors.
By johnwillems (2008-05-01 14:03:08 ): Graet image with very nice colours. I do like the compo very well. The POV is very well choosen. John.
By ktapio (2008-05-01 05:19:51 ): What a nice image framed with the well balanced window the angle is good the theme is just crisp and clean.
Very good eye. Arlen, welcome to PW looking forward for more of your images.katia
