Catcher Cami

Photographer's Comment: Here's a shot of my daughter. She broker her arm a few weeks ago while playing softball sliding into home plate. She was SAFE but will be OUT for several weeks. She wanted some tough girl pictures of herself with her cast, I think she did a great job posing. Taken with my Digital Rebel and a reflector in late afternoon light.

By dawnschubert (2008-04-08 05:10:05 ): Thanks Joan! I'm lovin the reflector.

By smokeydawg (2008-04-05 13:15:10 ): This is another great shot Dawn. Face looks great and is placed in the perfect spot, I like the angled comp also. Nice job with the eyes also, they really draw the viewer in and I like that she is looking into the camera. I might have included the entire arm with the cast. I like the bw toning. Well done!

By CamGram (2008-04-05 11:12:29 ): Sorry, tell you daughter that with that face she's doomed to look feminine no matter what she's wearing. I love the angle and the translucence look of her skin. Very very nice. After seeing what you've been doing with a reflector over the past few weeks, I'm going out this week to buy one.

By rpgart (2008-04-02 16:34:34 ): How about recreating the play when she broke her arm. She's down, she's sliding, spikes are flaring (ok so what if they are rubber) dust flying, the unmps arms are placed in the frame (you can hear the word, "SAFE"!. She looks a little clean here for me. Good shot though, I like the color better.

By dawnschubert (2008-04-02 14:21:24 ): Thanks Mark!

By steelafan36 (2008-04-02 13:37:09 ): I like the composition and the angle of this. Even though its not color, you managed to have her eyes stand out and be brilliant. Good Work.

By dawnschubert (2008-04-01 14:08:53 ): Thanks John! I used the reflector to take care of some shadows on her face. Good point about the cast, I was debating as to whether I should show some or all of it.

By johnwillems (2008-04-01 14:03:12 ): On the first view, the diagonale composition is terrific and it draws the viewer into the image. The duo-tones in sepia works here very well and the "look/view/face of Your daughter is compatible with her mood concern her broken arm (aaaieaai,...). The use of the reflector can't I evaluate, but without reflector was the image maybe much darker - so it works. In the contest of her broken arm (the thème), I do like to see a little bit more of her arm with the dessins. It's also nice to let see that as a remember and also intresting for the viewer. The pose is magnificent!! Friendly from John.

By dawnschubert (2008-04-01 13:27:16 ): Thanks Maureen! I do feel blessed to have Cami as my daughter, she is as beautiful on the inside as she is out. OH! by the way, I realllly love the beach wedding shot.

By maureenyoung52 (2008-04-01 07:07:48 ): Beautiful "tough" girl with "glamour" lighting! Nice job with the angle and toning. You are lucky you have such a beautiful daughter and she is lucky to have such a talented Mom to take such beautiful "tough" girl pictures.
