By jimdstearns (2008-04-02 02:23:34 ): Thank you for your comment. This is an old pic that I had done nothing with…. Taken in Feb 2005. I had pretty much forgotten about it because it was shot on a very over cast day and at that time I did not process it.
I got Lightroom last October and in reviewing, cleaning up and deleting up my snaps I came across this one. Since the time I snapped this one I’ve learned, thanks to the group at PWS, a lot more about different techniques, procedures, and processes, along with a little filter work, layering and blending this is the results.
Maureen, as far as the techniques it is basically a bi-color filter. I acquired it from Color Efex and it blends two colors and adds it to the active image. It also allows control over opacity, blend, and vertical shift the two colors. You can do it in PS alone but it takes about 20 plus layers…. :o((. I like the filter better… :D
Thanks again.

By Jim915 (2008-04-01 20:37:59 ): Jim - I think the POV makes this image. Your composition has created the illusion of standing there while the soldiers ride down upon you. The color tones you've added are very effective and add to the illusion. I like this very much.
By LindaJames (2008-04-01 17:41:20 ): Wonderful toning for this photo. Gives it such impact. Great use of the trees in the composition.

By johnwillems (2008-04-01 02:32:00 ): Hi James, that's a very great and terrific image! The combination of the colours in the foreground/background are amazing. The point of view: magnificent! The used lense is very well choosen and it helps to the dynamique mood of these photograph. Great work!! John Willems.
By karmal (2008-04-01 01:56:08 ): Hi Jim.
Dramatic and epic. The composition and details are very well done. Also the color palette adds a lot to the mood. Very good work with a strong impact on the viewer.
