By lynnrider (2008-03-17 14:15:44 ): Oh no - not crazy by any means:) I believe it is called "being open to possiblities." - :)
By smokeydawg (2008-03-17 12:47:04 ): Hey Dan, great find, wonderful textures and color, and great light! You know I love these! :)
By smokeydawg (2008-03-17 12:43:06 ): Yup, I have to agree here with Dan, sometimes, and I know this sounds crazy to some, but these things "call out" to be shot. Last summer was out doing some flower shots in my backyard, and something just kept "calling" to me to shoot my pond. All kinds of spirits were found in there once I got the images on my computer.
By johnwillems (2008-03-17 00:41:51 ): Great textures and a beautifull pallet of colours. Fantastic. From John.
By lynnrider (2008-03-16 15:42:05 ): Fascinating ideas yes! Isn't that so much of what this is about? Ideas and magic moments - how exciting to see something like this come up on the screen:)
By fotostalker (2008-03-16 04:42:49 ): Thanks, everyone, for your comments and viewpoints. I am grateful to have captured an image that stirs the mind and evokes not only an emotional response but also a discussion about the creative process.
By fotostalker (2008-03-16 04:37:56 ): perhaps, Lynn and Wayne, it is the image's need to find a brain? Or a least a pair of eyes with simpatico spirit? I believe there is a sort of symbiosis that happens when I shoot. In this particular image, I was intentionally shooting that shape (in portrait orientation but have turned off the auto roatate on my camera so as to have a larger preview) but didn't realize exactly what I had until I downloaded and went to click the roatate button in Adobe Bridge -- "wait a minute," said Polar Bear, my eyes and my brain. Fascinating ideas here, no?!?!
By lynnrider (2008-03-16 00:13:57 ): Ahhh Wayne - perhaps it is the willingness of our brains to find images:)
By CJGroth (2008-03-15 22:35:37 ): Hi Dan, the color is exquisite, and the whorls and swirls of the natural world so beautiful. Nice polar bear (grin). C.J.
By NowYesNow (2008-03-15 19:54:59 ): Indeed, Lynn... as is the ability of our brains to find images. Fascinating it is, though, that the polar bear shape is so easily seen by different brains. I also like the golden sheen, Dan.
By lynnrider (2008-03-15 15:00:30 ): Beautifully seen and captured Dan! I thought at first that it was beach sand. The macro world is amazing:)
By ktapio (2008-03-15 04:36:35 ): sorry just noticed it is a Pine tree bark. nice
By ktapio (2008-03-15 04:35:04 ): Daniele it is hard to just pass by one of your images and not ask you. It is a nice shot of texture and color. The bounce bear is great. But my question is it on a drift wood or a slab rock surface? katia
