School Bus in Brooklyn

By johnwillems (2008-03-09 00:20:48 ): Beautifull pallet of colours and a simple concept that take the attention from viewers with a certain feel for aesthectic. From John.

By Bernard (2008-03-08 22:44:51 ): I agree with Doug's comments. The scene is stretched out a bit too much. Cropping left and right focuses attention on the children in the windows, and cropping down from the top a part of the building in the background that really does not contribute much to the scene.

By CamGram (2008-03-08 21:38:16 ): Sharon, as I look at this picture, I keep wishing that I could see the children in the three center windows better. Perhaps if you had zoomed in on them this would have been a much more dramatic shot.

By DougWilkening (2008-03-08 18:21:48 ): I like the concept. I like the lines and I like the color combination. However, there is something just a bit awkward about the composition, and I'm not quite sure what it is. Maybe it's the ratio of bus to brownstone - not a harmonious ratio like 1:1 or 1:2 or 1:1.6 Maybe showing more of the bottom of the bus, perhaps even a sliver of the street, might help. Not sure. Or maybe it's because the pedestrian is cut in half. It's generally not a good idea to cut people in half.
