Magical 1

Photographer's Comment: Sandwich of two images, both shot this morning. I know what I was going for here, but wanting to see if I got it across. :) I realize this may be sacreligious (use of ps) to some of the purists out there but nothing that couldn't have been done in a darkroom. I think I'm gonna like this topic and may just skip the table one for more of the magical ones...all of which may have a lot of ps work! grin

By grovester (2008-03-01 22:40:51 ): Carl, as usual your color experiments interest me. I don't think you're that far off from making this one work and could be a good excuse to do more of your combining your color abstractions with other ideas. I'm sure you will work your way out of your funk.

By smokeydawg (2008-03-01 21:31:26 ): Thanks Ken, Maureen, I appreciate the feedback, was kind of stuck (been having problems with that lately, just a current funk Im in, but great suggestions, I'll try a take 2 on this incorporating some of them.

By KBittancourt (2008-03-01 19:01:21 ): Carl, I like the idea. I'd like to see a less defined edge on the right side of your magic cone spectrum. And, (he he) is there a way to have the light come out of the book? Right now it looks like it is behind the book. If the light is supposed to be behind the book, then I'd like to see a bit more shading on the front and sides of the volume. Also, the bright/lightness of the book competes with the soft spectral colors. Wonder what the book would look like in tungsten light? Oops, I'll be quiet now...

By maureenyoung52 (2008-03-01 18:52:15 ): Great idea, but I think the color is too far behind the book. I think it should be coming from the middle to the back and should be blended a little more as if it were streaming out from the pages. Also the edge against the backround should be a little softer. Just my take on this effect.
