By EggyEvolt510 (2008-04-01 18:55:00 ): From the thumbnail I thought this was a B&W photo. I was surprised to see the color when I looked at the full size image. I like the way the foreground is blurred. The lights from the town/city look like they are staring at you through the fog and the reflections of the lights off the water make for a great finishing touch. Fantastic photography!

By johnwillems (2008-02-22 21:58:13 ): Voilà, c'est ça!! Katia, You have a great insight in my photographs. Albert Pinkham Ryder is indeed an American painter, 1847 - 1917 - and for his time he made very great landscape "photographs" - if you understand me. The comparation is very well choosen. Thank You therefore, and it indeed so, I do'nt take photographs, I made photographs only with a view for mood. Some members thinks maybe that the photo is unsharp. It is not so. The light of the background is only the real "sharp-point-of-view". I selected the trees in the forground and gives these a little, little bit extra blur. So You can say, he made photographs. Photography is not for me a replica of the things in our life. For me is only a good and sharp photograph, not enough. Carlos comment was: ... Difficult to achieve this,... I gives these evening (here in Belgium is it late evening! an explanation of the mood in these photograph. Thanks again Katia for take a look and Your very, very aprreciated "link" with,... Thanks from John.

By ktapio (2008-02-22 21:36:51 ): What makes me keep coming back to look at this image is the over all texture. Or is it the tender light refection. Is it the feel of a poetic painting by Albert Pinkham Ryder? I am not suer!!! katia

By leachy (2008-02-21 07:11:08 ): hey john. very surreal !!!!. a bit blured, yet, there are traces of clarity in the fine branches on the top and right off center at the bottom of the frame. is this part of a series/theme? a moody image indeed.

By karmal (2008-02-21 04:03:30 ): Mistery. Suspense. A landscape of fear. Difficult to achieve this. Great mood.

By Jim915 (2008-02-20 22:01:09 ): John, I like the dark mood you've captured here. The framing with the trees at the right is terrific. The blur and the accent added by the spots of light and their reflections in the water create a captivating image.
