Photographer's Comment: This a picture of my brother (you can't see him) running past me with glow sticks. I used a longer exposure.

By smokeydawg (2008-02-10 15:04:47 ): I really like the effect of the glow sticks. Agree with the crop suggestion for same reasons.

By Blaize (2008-02-07 03:46:45 ): Thank you for your comment. I did not use PS (I almost never do on any of my images). I guess I'm what they call a purist :-) Thanks again, Blaize
By Blaize (2008-02-07 03:44:24 ): Thanks for your comment. I actually shot this after sunset; however, because of the longer exposure, the sky seems A LOT brighter than it actually is. Also the light on the trees(I never noticed that until now) is actually a street light along the path in the park. I did not use a flash or any kind of light except what light was naturally there. Also, I agree with the crop(instead of using PS to make the sky darker) because almost all of my pictures are raw images(no PS). Thanks again, Blaize
By Blaize (2008-02-07 03:33:35 ): Thank you for the comment. I appreciate it. The picture was taken not long after sunset. I did not use a flash, and I took the picture with my canon rebel xt and the standard 18-55mm lens. It was a spur of the moment picture because I saw my brother running around and I just shot it. Also, remember that you can never ask too many questions. That is how we learn. Thanks, Blaize
By johnwillems (2008-02-07 03:10:08 ): On the first view I think, the glowsticks are made in Photoshop. It is pure reality. Fine work. From John.
By Alexander (2008-02-07 01:24:37 ): Very interesting concept and idea. I like it, very interesting. I am curious how you got all the extra light on the trees in the middle. Did you fire a flash or strobe or is it just because of the glow sticks? I'd like to see this image at dusk or nightime! I added a crop because I felt there was to much dead space in the sky.
By ktapio (2008-02-06 23:36:43 ): Such a fun image! The composition is very nice. The colors are spread in a balanced way. Was it taken after sun set? Did you use a flash? What lens? Sorry for asking too many questions but I find it very interesting technique. Did you have to try it few times? Thanks for sharing.
