Photographer's Comment: A few weeks ago I asked my son to head out to the lake with me while I tried to get some pictures of the sunset. As I was going about my business I turned and caught him looking out toward the twilight lit horizon, as he turned to to look at me I captured this moment. Maybe I am just sentimental because he is growing so quickly into a man but to me this shot represents him looking to the future. Any comments or suggestions on what I could have done different. Are the rocks on the bottom left distracting and unnecessary?

By Alexander (2008-02-07 01:35:08 ): Dawn, great image I think your description about him looking into the future is perfect and add to the image. I agree with most about the rocks... they def aren't distracting, they add to the motion the viewers eyes make. I think softening up the flash might have helped but I am sure you didn't have the option to since it appears to be quite dark out. Nice shot!

The shoot is taken on the just/correct moment,... ten minutes later and it was fini!! It is a beautifull hole-in-one photograph with an excellent balance between the colours of the fore- and background. Your Young son becomes now a man, You can see it, he is on these moment yet intresting in nature, but he start "now" to expore "his new world". Therefore is the mood so great and important in these photograph. From John.

By twadams (2008-02-05 19:04:31 ): I like the capture. I think you did a great job. I like the comp, the background and everything. As far as the rocks you are talking about,it just adds to the mood here.If you want to be philisophical, I gues the rocks could represent the hazards faced by every young person as they venture forth into the world. Good job!
