By twadams (2008-01-24 23:42:15 ): I do like the colors here, very rich and evocative. The vantage point seems to represent being in one place and trying to get somewhere else, the water, snow and cold being the obstacles. Then again, I'm told I think too much about nothing sometimes. LOL. I would like it even more if more snow was on the ground. Very thought provoking image.
By joedlh (2008-01-24 14:43:26 ): Not being critical. Somebody dumped on me when I offered suggestions for improving a few images. I was being sarcastic.
By JackInTx1 (2008-01-24 05:01:23 ): Would love to see this same shot taken on a clear day, maybe using a longer lense and/or cropping it tighter so the focus is on the house. I see this as a "picture within a picture" that has a lot of possibilities and I think could be a lot of fun to play with.
By SaraSchmidt (2008-01-24 02:47:47 ): I read all the comments, to me this images is perfect just the way it is, and thank god no flash, i absolutely dislike them. if you have time, look at my image, no flash and yet it is light
i mean it when i say i want to have it
By SaraSchmidt (2008-01-24 02:43:42 ): I like this image so much, I would hang it on my wall. Do you sell them?
I truly like it

By robertb (2008-01-24 00:55:46 ): You're right - it does tilt. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Food for thought ...
By robertb (2008-01-24 00:53:31 ): Thanks Carlos. I appreciate the suggestion. I think you are right the red is distracting here.
By robertb (2008-01-24 00:52:22 ): Thank you for the comments. I have been trying to ascertain why the metadata shows the flash - it did not fire for this shot. However, now that you mention it - it might have altered the effect positively. Thanks.
By mschacter (2008-01-23 21:59:41 ): Excuse me?
By joedlh (2008-01-23 21:53:26 ): What I don't get is how the flash did not illuminate snowflakes that were closer to the camera.
By joedlh (2008-01-23 21:51:04 ): Be careful. Somebody is going to suggest that you're having a bad day if you give something other than effusive praise.
By mschacter (2008-01-23 17:07:38 ): This image is crooked (it tilts down to the right), and in any case it has little to offer. There is no obvious subject: nothing to grab the viewer's eye.
By karmal (2008-01-23 04:42:05 ): Hi Robert.
I like this picture. The color pallete, the subtle color in the trees, and also the effect of the falling snow. In my opinion, I would clone out that red shape in the river (left side).

By chasco (2008-01-23 03:57:48 ): It took a while for me to see the snow, which I'm attributing to a lower resolution for the web. But this most certainly relays the feeling of a very cold winter day! Looking at the metadata, nice use of flash to illuminate the brush in the foreground. It gives the landscape nice even lighting from foreground to background. This photo definitely gets the point across.
