Photographer's Comment: Hey, give me a break, he's a willing subject. :) I was out shoveling snow and looked up and found myself being watched. I kind of liked the effect of the chain link fence blur in fg, added noise, cropping and curves adj in ps. Pushed the curves for both dark and lights to the edgee

By smokeydawg (2008-01-24 23:12:52 ): Thanks Katia, glad you like it. The noise shows up better in the bigger image, but mostly the noise didn't seem to affect the white areas.
By smokeydawg (2008-01-24 23:11:00 ): This was a case of a last minute "hmmm" I started to snap the shot then noticed the links in the fence and went hmmm wonder what would happen if I composed it to place the "crosshatch" there.
By Jim915 (2008-01-23 23:14:18 ): Carl - The light, low contrast, diamond shapes of the fence, and beautiful color combination have combined into a fine image. I like this.
By ktapio (2008-01-23 14:48:00 ): Carl, what could be added to such wonderful image? He is a better model than my Azure. Well I think you are better shooter than me :] for sure. How were you able to use noise filter with out effecting the image in general? Thanks for your fun work. katia
By CJGroth (2008-01-23 11:27:19 ): Hi Carl ... very nice. He fills the frame and the curve of him to his two eyes is just perfect. Most people focus on the chain link fence or foreground element, but I think this absolutely works focusing on him. I just wrote in another critique I almost never like foreground blur, but I do like it in this case as a design element. Nice job.
By somagni (2008-01-23 10:52:02 ): fun angle and the fence is perfectly placed
By Isachsen (2008-01-23 09:13:09 ): Our old friend again. This is excellent Carl!
By carkins47 (2008-01-23 03:39:43 ): Yes, great capture. I had a brother who had a Malamute with eyes like this one has. I'm glad your shot includes that feature. The fence definitely adds to the effect. Very nice presentation - especially for the assignment.
By whitewavesPTP (2008-01-23 03:04:22 ): I like this, that's all, I just really like this image.
By grovester (2008-01-23 02:34:54 ): Using the fence to divide up his face this way really makes you look at those incredible eyes. Doesn't exactly hurt to start with such a photogenic model. I really like this one.
By lynnrider (2008-01-23 02:18:18 ): How in the world did you get him to pose right at that particular spot? - Terrific shot Carl:) The fence really frames the guy well.
By johnwillems (2008-01-23 02:13:34 ): Amazing good photograph. I don't know, but maybe a little bit more noise when you don't losse the details. These photograph is terrific, nice colours, modern,... all-in-one. Very fine!! John (also very good for the "critiques-site).
By dawnschubert (2008-01-23 02:05:43 ): another great shot. is this lil chief again? I like the added touch of the chain link fence. It makes me think of the times I have been accused of having eyes like these dog...LOL..one of my eyes is half brown while the other is bluish green.
