[ Play Mobile ]

Photographer's Comment: On the moment that I made this photograph it was "sunset". A "light"- storm arrival after a beautiful and "warm" autumn/winter day. The sun break by the clouds and lighted up the landscape, the grasses and the Play Mobile. I have moved now and yes,… I miss the quiet landscape, the ‘Light & Calmness – who tells a story” and the beautiful colours of Van Gogh. Where are my grandchildren to "play-back"?

By LindaJames (2008-01-26 03:02:30 ): I love this photo. Wonderful color and light and also it's great the way the eye travels over the horizontal line of the tree and down the slide. There's a nice element of unreality about it.

By johnwillems (2008-01-21 13:14:16 ): Soory Katia!!

By ktapio (2008-01-21 06:36:25 ): John I usually do not rate any work because I do not think I am qualified at all to judge any work. I only ask questions to learn. I only rerated this work because I thought somebody was unkind and rated law I felt if I give higher choice I could make the rating better. Because I really liked this particular image. Sorry if I offended you. I know I do not moderate any work here. katia Tapio

By smokeydawg (2008-01-18 17:14:22 ): I love this John, wonderful mood in this! Love the tree against that wonderful sky, the slide gives me a sense of place a perhaps a bit of sadness that no one is playing at the moment. Great scene, excellently captured! Beautiful colors.

By ktapio (2008-01-18 08:04:41 ): Some thing funny about the ratting I feel I need to reratte it. katia

By BeatriceFriedli (2008-01-18 02:48:33 ): beautiful light !!

By karmal (2008-01-17 02:35:28 ): Hi John. As for Jim, this is also one of my favorites pictures. Because of its dramatic symbolism and because it reveals the eyes of a poet. It could be a visual complement to the beautiful question asked, with the naiveté of a child, by the chilean poet Pablo Neruda: "Why do leaves commit suicide when the feel yellow ?" (sorry about my translation). The empty playground, the fallen (suicidal) leaves, the incredible tree with the remaining leaves as a bunch of black birds in its angry branches and the dramatic sky, all together conjure to create a modern Van Goghian (does this word exist ?) landscape. Carlos

By Jim915 (2008-01-16 21:03:14 ): John - This reminds me so much of the original photo you posted on PWS that went on to become Image of the Week. Of all the images I've seen of yours here, this one and the original are my favorites. This is just beautiful.

By ktapio (2008-01-16 21:00:14 ): The vertical lines standing against the horizon, the movement of the clouds in the sky. Then the stillness in the right corner where time looks like it stopped motionlessness some how. How did you do that??? it is so touching. True Van Gogh. :) katia

By lynnrider (2008-01-16 15:59:42 ): John - I keep coming back to this for another look. There is something about it that I like very much, but I can't tell you exactly what it is - perhaps the subtle colors, the leaves outlined against the sky. Nicely done. Lynn
