Photographer's Comment: An addition to my series "Elemental Sprits." This is from a base image of lava flow in the Hawai'i Vocanoes National Park on the Big Island. I wanted to upload this for the weekly assignment-digital imaging-but alas, the base photo (which is the first image in my BV) was shot a couple of months ago. The base image was processed in CS3 for color, clarity and other pretty standard stuff -- end result is a long process of copying pieces to new layers and assembling through a series of canvass size increases.

By steadyonabix (2007-12-12 09:42:46 ): I must say it was worth the effort, a great series of images. I don't normally like images that are manipulated to create symmetrical compositions like this but the highly textured results here are an exception to the rule. Lovely stuff. :)
