Photographer's Comment: OK - make a suggestion and I can't resist trying it! The first 3 are in my B&V, along with their comments. Er, be careful what you suggest? !!!

By johnwillems (2007-11-25 13:29:46 ): These photograph don't need futher manipulation in PhotoShop. The photograph is romantic, has a nice composition and beautifull colours. No more "drama" in these photograph is need. It is a very nice Autumn-photograph and I do like the "flatness" and on the same time the accented colours from the trees. These photograph do my think on the the oilpaints from the France impressionists. The unsharp-look here is in balance with the mood/lighting/thème. Yes, for me it is a great photograph here in these critiques-forum. Very well done and let is be. From John.

By BeatriceFriedli (2007-11-25 11:50:52 ): lol. I looked at your others on your b/v page. I like the original one, the first one better as is. Do you want more drama ? Play with your dodge and burn tools in PS. If you don't know what they are and how used, feel free to email me at bubease@aol.com Those are simple tools but can create wonderful visions. Of course there are many different things you can play and do. If the focus was soft from wind, sharpening in PS won't fix that nor help like you saw. It just created a digitalized look especially with leaves. Sometimes soft is ok to show things like wind or some kind of mood. I think Jim meant soft is the focus from camera. Use a higher shutter speed to stop the wind movement if you want more clarity. The red leaves can be popped out more by simple dodging or even painting with overlay with a brighter red color. Again, many things to play with.
Dodge and burn can easily bring this up more if wanted. Keep playing, you never know what you'll get. Again, the first one is my fav. Tweaking it up can be better.
