Photographer's Comment: Got to playing with this shot last night, wondering what you think of the effects and the image itself. It's the first time I've done this shot so any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Carl

By johnwillems (2007-10-31 19:53:22 ): Carl, very good & nice photograph. I think it is a "Topper". I agree with Martin concern the "red" border. From John.

By TMartin (2007-10-31 15:48:56 ): Beautiful portrait, says so much. I don't like the red border. It takes too much away from the subject. I would prefer elegant black if you must have a border. Black can also be romantic and sexy. The red flowers are enough red for the image. The white flowers in the background actually help hold my eyes in the center of the image, where their forehead lines go upward and out of the frame. The white also looks almost like something shining in the background like diamonds. So that keeps the theme going! Just ax the red border and repost so we can see!

By Jim915 (2007-10-30 00:01:43 ): Carl - Just to be clear about the red. I like it even though the skin tones might have just a bit to much since it enhances the mood. I know mo would love it because she likes redder skin tones. My suggestion was only about the border.

By smokeydawg (2007-10-29 14:18:39 ): Thanks Maureen, I admit it was risky, but already got the safe shot and wanted to try this angle for something different. Was also wondering if red border was too much. I may try just a bit smaller aperature to blur the faces just a bit more next time. Thanks for the honest feedback, its what I needed.

By smokeydawg (2007-10-29 14:16:16 ): Thanks Jim, your honest feedback is always appreciated. Like I say, first time doing this shot so was definately looking for honest opinions so I can get it better next time. Was also wondering if there was too much red, thanks again.

By smokeydawg (2007-10-29 14:14:00 ): Thanks Lisa, sure use away. Just watch out for the noses, sometimes they bend, and watch the nostrils. First time I did this angle, needs maybe a little fine tuning, but think I'm going to keep using this viewpoint for a hand shot. Thanks for the feedback.

By photobee72 (2007-10-29 04:00:09 ): Carl... I really like your creativity in this image. I like the effect but without burning the edges as much. I really love this pose... can I use it? :)

By maureenyoung52 (2007-10-28 15:30:23 ): Turned out pretty good considering you are shooting up peoples noses, pretty risky. I really like the softness except on the rings. Agree that red frame is too much red.

By Jim915 (2007-10-27 21:00:14 ): Carl, the lowered POV makes for a terrific visual. The light is very well exceuted and I appreciate that you can see the red tie. The blur (also the low POV) works well to focus the viewer on the rings. I would try to tone down the bright spots in the BG. There is so much red in the image, including the skin tones, that I'd try some contrasting color for the red of the frame.
