Photographer's Comment: Wondering what you think, especially the colorization whether you think it works or distracts. For comparison I have two other non colorized versions in my bv if you care to look and or comment on those. The brick wall in bg is exactly as it was, shot in an old alley, he was sitting on some old rickity stairs looking through the railing. Ps work consists of two duplicate layers, one with screen blending one with soft light blending opacity about 45 percent. A third adj layer with extreme curves adj, then bw layer using gradiant.

By DougWilkening (2007-10-08 12:53:48 ): A great composition. One important thing about using special effects is that the effect has to be in harmony with the subject. This one is.
By BobBarnes (2007-10-08 10:08:24 ): I would not change anything. Nice job!

By Jim915 (2007-10-07 22:12:15 ): Carl - this is great. I would not change the eyes or clone the moles. Your PS work is super. Not bad for a wedding photographer. :) :)
By GarbeauJones (2007-10-07 05:49:14 ): I like this very much... agree about right eye... its very subtle but enough that I would adjust it. Leave the moles! :) They add character.(sp?)Anyway... Nice work.
By fotostalker (2007-10-06 20:58:28 ): Very different and I find it very effective, Carl! As Bea would say, Kudos!

By SusanDuckworth (2007-10-06 18:45:24 ): I love the colorization. A very cool senior portrait!
By maureenyoung52 (2007-10-06 14:52:41 ): Love it! Love it! Love it! The only thing (always something) the brown in his right eye is a little red, makes him look a little scary. I would also clone out three moles(?) on his left next to his mouth and one next to his nose, but that's just me. I have to make everyone perfect in my photoshop world. I love how you have preserved the textures and brought back in just enough color. Of the two on the bio page I like Sonny 1 the best and I like it a lot. Great job! Very creative!
