I sat motionless on a hard, inclined surface behind a natural blind for two hours before they figured I wasn't a threat to them. It was near sunset. Because the area was surrounded by high trees, the light source was the hazy late afternoon sky. Not the best light. Plus, I underexposed to bring out the details in the white, which made everything else, well, murky. Point taken about the branch and yellow spot.

The left wing, (his right wing) has some detail but would (I know, I'm picky, sorry) like to see more detail in the other places. Looks like it was mid day light which can be tough, I do like the "rim" light effect around the upper parts of the wings though and overall given the light situation, it's pretty well controlled. The diagonal branch in the bg on the viewers right side of the bird is a bit distracting as is the yellow area Jill talked about. Both could be easily cloned out though.

But there is not much detail in the bird, the lighting isn't particularly good, the water and the background are murky and too busy. I'm not sure if the crop helps at all.(?) There's still that big branch or something n the background and that yellowish spot behind the bird that keeps getting my attention. Hmm...I didn't realize they were such big birds with such long necks.
