About Linda Shapiro:
I consider myself a "serious hobbyist", as they say in the photo magazines, but I'm still learning something new every time I pick up my camera. I shoot with a Canon EOS 5D, having graduated from the Rebel XT and the Rebel 300 before that. I have a hard time classifying the type of photography I am most interested in, but the common element in all my favorite photos is DETAIL. I enjoy portraiture, but especially portraits of interesting faces. This summer I enjoyed a black and white film class and loved the solitude and concentration of the darkroom, but was glad to get back to the more familiar digital darkroom! I look forward to seeing and critiquing the work of other members of photoworkshop.com and hope that each of you will give me helpful feedback on my photos as well. I believe we all grow best through hearing what works or doesn't work for others in our images.
