About John Lauritsen:
Hello there,
I started with photography when I was in highschool over 10 years ago. Since then I have dabbled with it over the years. I attended college for photography originally, then I put down the camera and switched to graphic design. Lately though, I have been wanting (more like craving) to get back into photography. This past year I have moved into the digital age with my camera, and found that joy of the shutter click all over again. I'm not sure where I well end up, but I do know this much for me; The camera is here to stay!
So, more about me. I still do graphic design, and recently started my own freelance business; Blue Bandana Design. Funny name huh, here is where that comes from:
While on my thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2005, my blue bandana is one of the things that I carried. It had more uses than I could have imagined. However, one fateful day that all changed, when it was taken by the wind. So the name is esentially in memory of a very useful Blue Bandana.
I enjoy doing graphic design. Constantly being able to create is great. Eventually I will narrow down the niche of work I do, but for now I can cover all bases of graphic design.
So, back to a note earlier, yes, I thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail. I'm a huge outdoors fan. It's an amazing world, and I know I won't get to see as much if I sit behind a desk all my life. What all do I do? Backpacking and hiking is the big thing for me, then rock climbing and kayaking, and add in some biking to round things out.
Thank you for taking the time to read through this bio and enjoy the images. Please constructively critique as you wish. I always want to keep learning and growing.
John
