Don't be bashful! If you want comments, give comments. You don't need to be an expert photographer to express your opinion about the work of others. You don't need to go into great depth. A simple remark about cropping, composition, color, subject matter, etc. can be of just as much help to a budding photographer as an in-depth critique.
For this assignment, spend time with a baby and document her morning or afternoon routine. Experiment with different angles, and concentrate on capturing natural, candid moments. The baby does not have to be looking into the camera. Choose your favorite image, post it online at www.pwsbooks.com, and tell others why you like it.
To complete this assignment, I captured an image of Natalie having her lunch. I crouched down at a low angle next to Natalie’s highchair and waited for the action and expressions to begin. She was focused on eating her lunch, which made it easier for me to capture her natural movements and expressions. By taking a lot of photographs in Continuous mode I was able to capture a real moment in her daily routine. The photo was taken at ISO 800, f/2.8 at 1/250 sec. with a Canon EF 17-35mm f/2.8 lens.
